Travelling to Chamonix

One of the great advantages of climbing in Chamonix is the ease of access both to the valley itself and the area’s extensive lift system.

Flying
There are a number of airports offering access to Chamonix. By far the most convenient, and the one we recommend you fly into is Geneva. It is just 80 km away and there are plenty of cost-effective ways of travelling between the airport and Chamonix. It has connections to most international destinations, some of which are also served by low-cost flight operators.

Transfers from Geneva Airport to Chamonix
There are a number of companies offering shared and private transfer from Geneva Airport to Chamonix. We’re working with transfer specialists and participants will receive a special discount code as part of their registration.

By Train
Chamonix can be accessed by a breathtakingly scenic small railway line from St. Gervais-les-Bains (Le Fayet) in France or Martigny in Switzerland. The line is under reconstruction so may include bus replacement services.
